Tucked away within the grounds of Berwick’s Old Cheese Factory, Little By Little Cafe is a family friendly cafe with great coffee, delicious food and absolutely gorgeous surrounds.

There is a takeaway kiosk where you can grab a coffee and toastie before heading to the Old Cheese Factory Playground opposite. Otherwise, walk through the beautiful outdoor space and follow the signs to the cafe’s dining area which is housed in the historic Springfield Homestead.

If you would like a little trip back through time, grab a table inside the heritage building or on the wraparound porch. Outdoor seating is an absolute winner though if the weather is on your side.

The kids will not get bored here - the grounds are large enough that there is plenty of green space to play and run around on. There are also a number of garden sculptures to explore, a mini foot bridge to cross, decommissioned water pump to crank and a tree stump love seat engulfed in Bougainvillea for the perfect photo op.

When it comes to food, Little By Little Cafe have a great brunch and lunch selection as well as a  “munchkins” menu with sweet and savoury options to choose from… just make sure to leave some room for a little treat from their cabinet afterwards!

north point, brighton

North Point’s iconic two-toned umbrellas and stunning views of Port Phillip Bay are just a few of the many reasons Mamma loves this beachside cafe. With amazing coffee, an all day breakfast AND lunch menu and a fabulous playground just a stones throw away, what more could you want?!

On a beautiful warm day, grab a seat at one of the glorious outdoor tables and bask in the sunshine (pooches welcome!). On a not so sunny Melbourne day, escape inside to the bright and airy interiors, where there are plenty of seating options and ample room for prams.

Mamma absolutely devoured the salmon bowl teaming with fresh flavours and a punchy miso dressing, while the little ones fought over their dad’s pancakes. The kids menu has a good variety as well with sweet and savoury breakfast and lunch options to satisfy the fussiest of tastebuds.

Don’t fill up on too much though… the treats cabinet by the counter is filled with so many delicious cakes that it would be rude not to order a slice (or two).

If the kidlets are itching to get to the playground across the road, and a sit down meal is not on the cards, head to North Point’s kiosk to the right of the cafe for a quick (but delicious) fix.
