georgie bass, flinders

Mamma’s found a little gem in the heart of the Mornington Peninsula town of Flinders. Located at the main roundabout in the old cooking school of the same name, Georgie Bass has had new life breathed into it by a local Irish family who also own a pub and restaurant in the neighbouring Mornington.

With touches of their heritage felt throughout (Mr Mamma was thrilled to find Guinness on tap here), Georgie Bass still pays tribute to its seaside location - note the gorgeous pink surfboard proudly mounted by the booth seating.

Offering breakfast and lunch 7 days a week as well as dinner on Fridays and Saturdays, visitors can enjoy all day breakfast staples like eggs Benedict and waffles, brunch favourites like scotch eggs and lobster rolls or dinner classics like grilled salmon and lamb backstrap.

Little ones are looked after here too! The first things brought to the table are water, menus, colouring books and pencils - perfect! The kids menu is generous all well. Waffles, eggs and bacon, spaghetti and meatballs and fish and chips are just some of the choices on their dedicated menu.

If the weather is nice, why not grab a seat in the outdoor area with plenty of room for kids to run around and spread out on the grass (just note that this area is situated near the roundabout so keep an eye on any runners).
