dandenong library, dandenong

Here is the perfect place to head to when the weather is cold or you’re looking for an indoor activity to keep the kids entertained. Dandenong library is a cozy and family friendly space located inside the Harmony Square Civic Centre, and there really is something here for everyone.

As soon as you enter you’ll notice the sweetest onsite cafe Sunny and Thor, which was the perfect place for this Mamma to unwind with a coffee after what was the excitement of Toddler Time!

The library itself is incredibly spacious, spanning over two levels with plenty of tables, private seating areas, quiet rooms, activity spaces and, of course, a space just for the children.

The children’s area is open and bright with such a large selection of books perfect for babies through to young readers, it’s always a struggle to get Miss 4 to leave with only the books that fit in her library bag!

There are also plenty of cosy reading nooks and activity tables stocked with colouring pencils and sheets, giving little ones a chance to take a break from the books while still keeping busy and entertained.

Like most Melbourne libraries, Dandenong Library hosts weekly Baby Bounce, Toddler Time and Storytime sessions, the perfect free family activity, as well as school holiday activities for the older kids.

Whether you're visiting for storytime, borrowing a stack of books or simply escaping the weather for a few hours, Dandenong Library is a fantastic free outing that encourages a love of reading while giving families a welcoming space to spend quality time together.
