What could be better than one adventure packed park? Two of them, of course!

What could be better than one adventure packed park? How about a huge park that is home to three different playgrounds?!

If you haven't been to Ballam Park before, you are seriously missing out! Especially now, as it has recently undergone an upgrade!
The park consists of three separate play areas at opposite ends of the park.

On the Western side you will find the adventure park - perfect for the older kids.
There's a skate park- packed with small hills and bumps, climbing wall, parkour area, basketball court, in-ground mini trampolines, zip-line - and all the usual suspects like swings, tunnels and the widest slide you have ever seen!

On the Eastern side is the new nature reserve play space. With a separate undercover shelter and BBQ, offering climbing ropes and nets, sculptures and balancing poles, it is a great space for kids who may be a bit overstimulated at the other area.

And then there’s the Water Play Park! There are dozens of water fountains that rotate in height and strength, ensuring that kids of all ages can enjoy running through - or simply standing -underneath the streams of water.

This is one park you will want to stay at for hours!

Brand new water play at Ballam Park!

There’s a cute little water play park - set on the grounds of the leafy Ballam park.

Make sure you bring a change of clothes (or bathers!) as this is proper water play here! There are dozens of water fountains that rotate in height and strength, ensuring that kids of all ages can enjoy running through - or simply standing -underneath the streams of water.

Along with the water play, there are also swings - both basket and traditional, a carousel, sandpit and a cute little bamboo garden. Mamma’s crew loved the little ‘fairy garden’ as they called it, underneath the shade of a huge leafy tree, complete with giant toadstool and fairy house sculptures.

How good is a beach side park!

Mamma loves a beach side park!
Whilst this playground doesn’t have a heap of equipment, it does have a lot of space. It’s perfect for a picnic - with a BBQ, picnic tables and toilets (which are part of the bowls club).
There is a huge sandpit with stepping stones and a tap that sprinkles water down the steps and into the sand - perfect waterplay for making muddy puddles! Mamma’s hot tip - bring spare clothes, as the kids are gonna get dirty…
Shade sails have recently been added to provide cover for the majority of the sandpit.
There’s also three swings, a rope climbing bridge, and a wooden ramp. Lots of space and ways for the kids to enjoy imaginative play. And, of course, the beach is also just a ramp away.

Mamma loves a park upgrade - especially a themed park!
This one is all about tennis. Located beside a tennis court, the playground makes you feel like you are playing on your own private court. It’s built entirely on a bright blue soft-fall mat with white lines and green equipment.
It is quite small, consisting of two in-ground trampolines, one large twisty slide and one smaller slide, swings, rock climbing wall, cubed climbing net, two giant tennis ball statues, rocks to climb and a green snake path.
There’s no shade cloth, but lots of trees that do provide some shaded areas.
Mamma must note that the climbing cube - the only way to access the big slide - is quite tricky and not suitable for under 5s.

This great local reserve has recently had a face-lift, and, wow, does it look great!
They’ve put a huge emphasis on nature play here, incorporating lots of wooden equipment and climbing logs that are surrounded by wide open space and lots of new trees planted. Ensuring that in years to come all the new equipment will be under the cover of trees.

For now, there are existing trees that provide some shade to parts like the see-saws and climbing blocks.
There’s equipment to suit all ages, which means some of it is a little challenging and some parent assistance may be needed for the little ones.
There’s a sandpit with a drum and a sort of cubby-house in the middle; a large structure with ropes and mats to climb up; slides and poles to dismount; little tunnels to hide in; cement paths to ride on and a couple of picnic tables.
Mamma also hasn’t yet come across a 5-way swing like they have, and Little Miss wasn’t too sure how to use it (either was Mamma!). Oh, and another first was a fun-house mirror!
Lots of fun to have here folks!

Mamma promises this playground upgrade was worth the wait!

Hooray! The playground is finally updated! And let Mamma tell you - it was sure worth the wait!

What was already one of the best treasures in Frankston, has now been upgraded with an awesome new playground. It includes equipment Mamma has never seen before (which is some feat considering how many parks the crew have visited!)

For example, one of the highlights for Mr tree-climber was a set of different sized ropes which are bolted into the ground and threaded throughout the huge climbing trees. Such a simple thing, yet a great tool for hours of imaginative play!
The other faves were the 6 person rope swing, the incredible tree house complete with twisty slide dismount, the net standing see-saw and the inclusive carousel.
Of course, there are the usual - swings, slides, rocking horses (bees), sandpit and large statues of spiders and crocodiles.

The gardens themselves are a hidden oasis in the middle of Frankston - with plenty of space for kids to run around and explore - kick the footy - even a game of cricket!  Read more about George Pentland Botanical Gardens here.

Pack your picnic basket and prepare to spend a few hours enjoying this beautiful spot.

Who can resist an awesome beach-side playground? Especially one that has been newly updated!

Located on the Frankston Waterfront Reserve, the views are just stunning. You have the beautiful Frankston Pier and beach that you can stroll along in all seasons.

Then there’s this huge playground with so much space for kids to run and burn off energy.
The park is spread out into sections, which is great when it is busy, ensuring things don't get too overcrowded.

There’s all NEW equipment offering lots of fun for all ages.
For the bigger kids, there’s a high climbing structure in which you can only get up via two lots of rope ladders (or with mum or dad lending a hand!) Dismount is courtesy of two large slides!
For the little ones there’s a smaller structure complete with a rock climbing wall, small double slide, steps and an enclosed path. However, this does lead on to a rope-bridge that has some gaps, so as with any play ground - be sure to keep a close eye on the brave little adventurers.

There are loads of swings, most of these are under shade sails.
There’s also all ability play areas including a liberty swing.

In keeping with the wooden theme, there are awesome little log rockers - Mamma hasn’t come across these before! There are climbing logs, spinning circle, sandpit, giant shell and giant nutshell boats!

You can easily spend the whole day here. Pack a picnic, have a BBQ or visit one of the many nearby cafes, walk along the beach, the boardwalk and PLAY the whole day away!

Mamma has found a hidden treasure with this little beauty! Relatively new, being less than a year old - it seems as if it hasn't quite been discovered by any mums groups or the like just yet.
It is a fabulous park set on a rather large 13 hectare site. With super cool inclusions that you don't see at many parks; such as, a mini rock-climbing wall, fun-house mirror, gym bars, drum and mini in-ground trampolines.
There's also a twisty slide, climbing rope, nest swing, tunnels, see-saw - and lots more.
Go for a little walk down the hill and you will find a duck-filled lake with a small walking path around it.
It is next to a cricket and football oval - which makes for plenty of room to run around and kick the footy, too!
