space jump @ springvale indoor sports

If, like this Mamma, you have a jumping castle enthusiast in the house, Space Jump at Springvale Indoor Sports is definitely one to pop on the list.

If, like this Mamma, you have a jumping castle enthusiast in the house, Space Jump at Springvale Indoor Sports is definitely one to pop on the list.

Open to the public on weekends, Space Jump offers a variety of inflatable structures for different age groups, from the traditional jumping castle to a mini inflatable basketball court and little miss 5’s favourite “Wipe Out” inspired ball obstacle course.

There are a number of inflatable structures for a range of different ages, mostly 4 years and up. However, there are also a few for the younger toddlers, as well as a cliff drop which is only for 8 years and older. With various tunnels to crawl through, surfaces to jump on, climbing walls to scale and slides to zip down - it’s a great little place for kids of all ages to bounce off some of that energy.

Mamma loves that the Space Jump facilities are set aside from the rest of the sports centre and are clearly defined by netting barriers, which means keeping track of little jumpers is much easier.

If the littlies get a bit peckish mid jump, there is a simple kiosk at the entrance that sells drinks (including coffee), chips, sweets and ice-cream.

the deck kids, brighton

The Deck Kids perfectly combines the fun filled aspects of a children’s play space with the mouth watering qualities of Melbourne’s cafe culture - this Mammas idea of heaven.

The Deck Kids perfectly combines the fun filled aspects of a children’s play space with the mouth watering qualities of Melbourne’s cafe culture - this Mammas idea of heaven. Designed, predominantly for little kids, 6 years and under, there are 4 defined areas of play in an enclosed and gated space, perfect for those wondering toddler feet that like to explore.

The first zone is an “outdoor” area, complete with bbq, ride on animals, and construction materials for those who want to partake in a little diy.

Next is the fully stocked “Deck Mart” and cafe  space for the little foodies among us. Easily one of the most popular areas, this Mammas’s 2 year old could not get enough of the crank operated supermarket conveyor belt. While little miss 5 settled in to the neighbouring “home” section where she set to work tending to her brood of 4 doll babies and their seemingly *very* strict bath/milk/bedtime routine.

Lastly, the soft play zone closest to most of the cafe seating includes a small ball pit and foam decor which caters more to the younger children.

Now… when it comes to the food, The Deck Kids don’t hold back. With a diverse range of sweet and savoury options for the grown ups as well as a generous kids menu (including crowd favourites like bacon and eggs, pancakes and chicken nuggets), there is plenty to choose from to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. Mamma actually appreciated the QR  code system here as it made following two little ones around the play area while perusing the online menu, child's play.

Online bookings are essential and entry to the venue is $8 per person (adults and children over 12 months) which is redeemable on any menu items purchased during the allotted 1.5 hour session time.

crocs playcentre, clayton

Indoor playcentres are a godsend when the weather is less than ideal, and Clayton’s Crocs is no exception. With play zones for all age groups and a Muffin Break cafe for the grown ups, it’s the perfect place to escape the elements and entertain the kids for a few hours.

Indoor playcentres are a godsend when the weather is less than ideal, and Clayton’s Crocs is no exception. With play zones for all age groups and a Muffin Break cafe for the grown ups, it’s the perfect place to escape the elements and entertain the kids for a few hours.

There’s a small soft play area for bubs under 18 months which includes some interactive play panels, a see saw and climbing/building blocks.

Right next to the baby area is a larger gated soft play zone for under 4s who are prone to doing runners. This area was a big hit with mammas 4 year old and 20 month old, with the button operated merry go round, mini jumping castle and interactive floor piano being the highlights.

Mamma’s favourite Crocs attraction? Getting served a latte the size of a small child. Yes please and thank you.

The largest area by far, was for the bigger kids and adrenaline junkies in the family. Various slides, tunnels and foam ball shooters across multiple levels mean the adventurers among us have ample room and equipment to explore. And don’t forget the race track (with push bikes and trikes supplied) that runs across the right hand side of the centre - on your marks, get set, GO!

Hot tip - head there during the week with the preschoolers for a cheeky little discount… but be sure to pack socks as they are mandatory throughout the centre across all opening hours.

When's the last time you visited a good old fashioned bowling alley? Mamma and crew love heading to our local Zone Bowling in Frankston.

The thrill of gliding onto the slippery floor with those funky shoes, to the soundtrack and awesome film clips of 80s and 90s hits; it's like stepping into your teenage years!

Having bumpers and a ramp makes it easy for kids to participate and knock pins down, even the adults can take advantage of them if they wish! (Mamma MIGHT cheat sometimes!)
Once the game is over, grab a meal and then head into the arcade to shoot some hoops, practice your soccer skills with Homer Simpson, play some air hockey or pool or try your luck on the ticket jackpot wheel!

legoland discovery centre, chadstone

Everything really is AWESOME down at Legoland - indoor play perfection!

Everything really is awesome down at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre! It truly is a LEGO-lovers (not just kids - although you have to take them with you) paradise.

This fabulous world of LEGO is the only one in the Southern Hemisphere, so it really is an experience like no other! There is a stack of different zones and activities to explore during your session at LEGOLAND. From a 4D cinema experience, small scale theme rides, a soft play zone AND a farm themed DUPLO zone for the juniors, underwater themed space, an earthquake simulation table and a testing zone for the wheel based creations.

Mamma’s favourite is the Melbourne Miniland zone, which features all of Melbourne's most iconic features, in a LED display that takes the view from day to night. Amazing.

A cafe is also on site, offering coffee and sandwiches, and little lego cookies! Just follow the smell of popcorn and you will find it. Of course, there is also a LEGO shop that you have to visit. Stocking all the LEGO that you can imagine!

This is definitely worth a visit if there is a LEGO lover in your life; they will feel like they have stepped into their wildest dream!

superzu, dingley

WARNING: This is not your average play centre. Be prepared to be lost in the jungle for a few hours, as you have a safari good time and this incredible indoor play centre.

Be warned, this is not your every-day play centre! Do not enter this place expecting to leave after an hour. You will be here much, much longer than that. Because this place is AMAZING!

With over 2000 square metres of fully equipped floor space, you will not find anything else like it in an indoor playcentre environment. Throw in the awesome zoo theme, and you have a fully unique experience!

Where to start?
Perhaps with the massive climbing volcano - once up the top, run around the 1 kilometre of trails, tunnels, trampolines and tubes all above ground. Take a tube ride back to the bottom, jump on a safari buggy and go for a cruise?
Or perhaps toddlers might want to go to their fully enclosed section, enter the 'catch a balloon chamber' play with the air balls and pit, go for a slide and then build a sculpture with the large lego?

The possibilities are endless! This place is truly awesome - this mamma highly recommends it!
Also worth noting is the consideration of the food menu. There are plenty of vegetarian, gluten-free and varied menu options, and the coffee is amazing!

Unleash the ninja warriors and fly like a bird at this fabulously bouncy spot!

You gotta BOUNCE baby! This place is unreal and ALL the kids Mamma taught back at school would seriously rave about it. Bounce Inc is all about the action and getting some serious air time. The centre runs sessions all week long and all jumpers are supported and supervised by excellent staff members who are SUPER enthusiastic. The kids will get their hearts racing quickly and don’t be surprised if they start to glow with sweat after all that jumping, balancing and flipping.

Alongside the trampoline park is the X Park Zone. Designed for the kids 125cm, this zone is where the inner ninja warriors unleash their skills, with a whole course to swing and climb your way through - plus a whole section for parkour… In fact, the contestants on the show trained here as preparation!

Mamma’s special mention: There’s a junior jumper area for the really little ones - as well as a soft play area - their motto is ‘If they can walk they can Bounce!”.

Jump off the diving boards, slide down the water slide, splash in the shallow pool with bubble fountains and get swept away in the wave pool!

*Waterslide and Diving boards no longer accessible

Splashing around at an aquatic centre is the ultimate all-weather activity! It doesn’t matter if it is 40 or 4 degrees, here the temperature is always perfect.

Mamma’s crew had never visited MSAC before, and boy were they blown away! It is such a HUGE centre and there’s so much fun to be had.

Even though they loved splashing in the shallow pool with the bubble fountain; they all agreed that the absolute best fun was the wave pool. The little ones stayed in the shallow end where they were gently swayed by the waves; whilst the older ones couldn’t get enough of the huge waves that formed right in the corner of the pool. So much fun.

There’s lots more that MSAC offers as well, such as: creche, swimming lessons, parties, gym, hydrotherapy pool and awesome school holiday activities. Mamma’s little one insisted that he simply MUST have his birthday party here next year! For more info on having a party, click here.

Do you remember the feeling of stepping onto the rink, barely balancing on those skates, grabbing hold of the barrier against the wall as you navigate your way around for the first time?
Then the feeling of nailing it as you speed skate in a comp, or limbo your way to a free toffee apple? Pretty memorable stuff, right?

Sk8house is THE place to introduce this feeling to your little ones. All the staff here are dedicated to helping create life-long memories, and offer assistance to all the little ones who may need a helping hand. They also offer the chance to change from blades to skates or vice versa - with no extra charge.

Parents, this isn’t only for the little ones either! Step into a time-warp as you glide along the rink, listening to fab 80s music!

Loads of fun to be had here, a perfect weekend or school holiday activity for the whole family.

What could be a better way of burning off excess energy than entering an indoor play land where everything is bouncy?!

What could be a better way of burning off excess energy than entering a land where everything is bouncy?!

Here you can jump into a Jurassic world, a jungle, a motor themed world, take a ride on a wrecking ball, race your friends through an obstacle course, and slam dunk a basketball.

There is loads of fun for all ages here, with the toddlers having their own inflatable area to enjoy, separate to the bigger kids.

Parents can enjoy a coffee and snack while they watch the enjoyment through the nets from the comfort of their chair.

Don’t forget your socks! Must have socks to play!

If you visit on a Sunday, make it the second Sunday of the month and head around the corner to the awesome Mornington Racecourse Market! Or get a decadent donut from the delicious Rebel Donuts!
