iPlay Frankston has JUST opened, and it’s HUGE, offering a massive 2,500sqm of fun for all ages.
You'll find all the latest arcade games, dodgem cars and pizes! But the real standout is Pandemonium – a brand-new challenge room experience that's unlike anything else in Melbourne. Work your way through 11 action-packed rooms filled with physical and mental challenges as you race against the clock. It's fast-paced, interactive and seriously fun!
The dodgems were an absolute hit with Mamma's crew, with plenty of laughs (and a few friendly bumps!) along the way. It was one of those attractions the kids wanted to jump straight back on as soon as the ride finished.
We have a feeling iPlay Frankston is going to become a regular on our family fun list!

Nestled amongst the beautiful gum trees of Beaumaris Reserve, Beaumaris Library is a welcoming space for families to explore. Wander through the library and you'll discover the spacious, light-filled children's area tucked away at the rear. Low shelving makes it easy for little readers to browse independently, while cosy reading nooks invite families to curl up together with a favourite story. You'll find everything from board books for babies to picture books, junior fiction, comics, DVDs and educational resources for school-aged children.
Mamma especially loves how welcoming this space feels for young visitors. A large rug and colourful floor cushions create the perfect spot to settle in and enjoy a few books. While child-sized tables are set up for colouring, drawing and other quiet activities, making it easy to keep everyone busy. Before you know it, the kids will be slowing down, exploring and just enjoying spending time in the library, whether they're reading, creating or simply soaking up the calm atmosphere.
And for the older kids and teens there are comfortable reading chairs, quiet study spaces, public computers, free Wi-Fi and plenty of spots to sit with a laptop or catch up on some homework.
And, of course, Beaumaris Library has a fantastic range of family-friendly programs including Baby Rhyme Time, Storytime, school holiday activities and special events that encourage children to sing, move, create and discover. These sessions are a wonderful way to introduce little ones to libraries and meet other local families. Program availability varies throughout the year, so it's worth checking the current timetable before your visit.
Whether you're raising a tiny bookworm, looking for a quiet escape on a rainy day or simply searching for free family activities in Bayside, Beaumaris Library is well worth adding to your list.

Think rock climbing without the ropes, with shorter walls and thick padded flooring underneath, making it a great introduction for your little ones to the sport.
While the main gym caters to older climbers, your minis will love the dedicated FamilyHaus - a purpose-built space designed especially for kids. The colourful climbing walls are scaled for little climbers, with challenges that encourage confidence, coordination and problem-solving as they work their way across the walls. There’s even a toddler-friendly climbing area, plus an eight-metre padded slackline and hangout spaces including a table tennis table to keep the fun going between climbs.
Oh, and you can get involved too Mamma - parents are encouraged to climb alongside their kiddos, making it a fun activity to enjoy together rather than simply watching from the sidelines. There are also youth climbing programs, birthday party packages and an on-site café for a well-earned coffee break serving the liquid gold stuff, plus pizzas, warm pretzels and other snacks too!
Whether you’re planning a rainy day outing, a weekend adventure or searching for a birthday party with a twist, BlocHaus is well worth adding to your family bucket list.

If, like this Mamma, you have a jumping castle enthusiast in the house, Space Jump at Springvale Indoor Sports is definitely one to pop on the list.
Open to the public on weekends, Space Jump offers a variety of inflatable structures for different age groups, from the traditional jumping castle to a mini inflatable basketball court and little miss 5’s favourite “Wipe Out” inspired ball obstacle course.
There are a number of inflatable structures for a range of different ages, mostly 4 years and up. However, there are also a few for the younger toddlers, as well as a cliff drop which is only for 8 years and older. With various tunnels to crawl through, surfaces to jump on, climbing walls to scale and slides to zip down - it’s a great little place for kids of all ages to bounce off some of that energy.
Mamma loves that the Space Jump facilities are set aside from the rest of the sports centre and are clearly defined by netting barriers, which means keeping track of little jumpers is much easier.
If the littlies get a bit peckish mid jump, there is a simple kiosk at the entrance that sells drinks (including coffee), chips, sweets and ice-cream.

The Deck Kids perfectly combines the fun filled aspects of a children’s play space with the mouth watering qualities of Melbourne’s cafe culture - this Mammas idea of heaven. Designed, predominantly for little kids, 6 years and under, there are 4 defined areas of play in an enclosed and gated space, perfect for those wondering toddler feet that like to explore.
The first zone is an “outdoor” area, complete with bbq, ride on animals, and construction materials for those who want to partake in a little diy.
Next is the fully stocked “Deck Mart” and cafe space for the little foodies among us. Easily one of the most popular areas, this Mammas’s 2 year old could not get enough of the crank operated supermarket conveyor belt. While little miss 5 settled in to the neighbouring “home” section where she set to work tending to her brood of 4 doll babies and their seemingly *very* strict bath/milk/bedtime routine.
Lastly, the soft play zone closest to most of the cafe seating includes a small ball pit and foam decor which caters more to the younger children.
Now… when it comes to the food, The Deck Kids don’t hold back. With a diverse range of sweet and savoury options for the grown ups as well as a generous kids menu (including crowd favourites like bacon and eggs, pancakes and chicken nuggets), there is plenty to choose from to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. Mamma actually appreciated the QR code system here as it made following two little ones around the play area while perusing the online menu, child's play.
Online bookings are essential and entry to the venue is $8 per person (adults and children over 12 months) which is redeemable on any menu items purchased during the allotted 1.5 hour session time.

Feel like smashing out some rage? Then THIS is the place you NEED to visit!
There are three different options for some serious stress relief at this funky warehouse. SMASH, CRASH or SPLASH. The Mamma’s couldn’t wait to get stuck in to smashing things! So the SMASH room it was!
First, you need to suit up into your safety gear - overalls, gloves and helmet with a face shield. Next - select your music to smash to. Then you have three ways of smashing. You can pick up and throw glasses, plates and bowls against the wall - or you can place an object on top of a safety cone and smash it with a baseball bat! Your third choice is to totally destroy objects like toasters, DVD players and vacuum cleaners with a sledgehammer! (There are extra costs for this.) It is such a surreal, but AWESOME feeling!
There’s now a CRASH room too, which is fun for the whole family! Think - a giant ball pit - the whole room is a ball pit where you can ‘crash’ into. There are sumo suits you can battle with, pool noodles, basketball hoops and balls. The kids will love the opportunity to battle their sibling - or parent!
Then there’s the Splash room, another option for ages 5+ You will have balloons full of paint that you throw against a wall - which is your own giant canvas to make a work of art. Another - more artistic - option of de-stressing!
So much fun. Mamma will definitely be back! (Most likely during School holidays…)

This playcentre is SUCH a hidden gem! Step through the unassuming side door and immerse yourself in fun!
It’s evident to see just how much pride owner Cath has in this playcentre. The space is well lit, extremely clean and temperature controlled - that’s what every parent will notice first… your children though, maybe not so much! They will run for the giant jumping castle, the huge play structure with ball blasters and racing slides - or this Mamma’s favourite, the mechanical car ride! Your littlest ones will enjoy their safe haven in the toddler area with plenty of room and activities - though be mindful this area is not gated.
When the tummy’s start rumbling you can order from a vast menu on your phone - including gluten free, vegetarian and halal options, and it will come right to your table.
Your kids (AND YOU!) will love this play centre so much!
They also have a Build-A-Bear workshop area to create some special memories.
